The origin of pain |
The pain which you feel is a response to signals, triggered by damage to the body. These signals travel from the source of the pain via the nerves to the spinal cord and from there to the brain where the signal is finally perceived as pain.
This means that pain can be controlled by preventing the signals from reaching the brain.
If the pain signals do not reach the brain, you will not feel any pain.
Various methods are available at the spinal cord level to influence the pain pathway before it reaches the brain.
